Banhado dos Pachecos
The Banhado dos Pachecos ( German : Pachecos swamp ; officially Portuguese Refúgio de Vida Silvestre Banhado dos Pachecos ) is a wildlife sanctuary in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul in the area of the city of Viamão . It was formed on April 24, 2002. The area is 25.4347 km².
The area was originally intended for agricultural use as part of the agricultural reform , but was then handed over to the Ministry of the Environment.
The marshland is rich in flora and fauna with endangered animals and is of great importance for migratory birds . It is the only place in Rio Grande do Sul where the swamp deer lives. In addition, there live broad-snouted caiman , sickle Swing Nightjars , Xolmis dominicanus (genus tyrant ), Xanthopsar flavus (family of blackbirds , Riesenbekassinen , Seggenzaunkönige , forehead Bandi bites ).
