Bani Hassan (Jordan)

The Bani Hassan ( Arabic بني حسان, DMG Banī Ḥassān ) are an influential Bedouin tribe from Jordan .

He is one of the largest and most influential tribes in the region supporting the royal Hashimite family in Jordan. Members of this tribe hold high positions in the army and government of Jordan.

The best-known member of the tribe is the al-Khalayleh family ( Arabic الخلايلة al-Chalaila ), from which the terrorist Abu Musab al- Zarqawi , who waskilled by Americans in 2006,comes from, whose father-in-law, Yasin Jarrad,droveto the Imam Ali Mosque (Najaf) in August 2003and killed more than 125 people in the process.
