The Bank OZK (until July 2018 Bank of the Ozarks ) is an American financial institution with headquarters in Little Rock . The bank was founded in 1903 in the small town of Jasper in the US state of Arkansas. It was not until 1937 that the first branch was opened in the city of Ozark. In 1979 the bank was taken over by lawyer George Gleason. In 2018, the name of the credit institution was officially changed from Bank of the Ozarks to Bank OZK. Bank OZK is Arkansas' largest bank. It also has branches in the states of Georgia, Florida, Texas, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, California, New York and Mississippi.
