history

Ellwanger und Geiger was founded in February 1912 by Wilhelm Ellwanger and Eugen Geiger as a mortgage business and shortly afterwards expanded into a universal bank . In 1927 the offer was expanded to include insurance and in 1937 to include real estate transactions. In 1961 the insurance division was transformed into “Dr. Ellwanger & Kramm GmbH - Insurance Broker ”. In 2017, the bank separated from the real estate companies as part of a management buy-out and has been concentrating on advising its institutional and private customers on all asset and financing issues in the legal form of a stock corporation since 2018.
