Barbados Labor Party

The Barbados Labor Party (BLP) is a party in Barbados .

It was founded in 1938 by Grantley Herbert Adams . The current chairman is Owen Arthur, who was Prime Minister until January 2008 . In the 2003 elections, the BLP received 23 out of a total of 30 seats. In the subsequent elections in 2008, the BLP received only 10 seats and Owen Arthur was replaced by David Thompson as Prime Minister. In the elections on February 21, 2013, the BLP was able to improve to 14 seats. In 2018, she won an absolute majority in parliament with more than 70% of the vote, and chairwoman Mia Amor Mottley became the country's prime minister.
