Mia Amor Mottley QC (* 1. October 1965 ) is a politician of the Barbados Labor Party (BLP) from Barbados and since May 25, 2018 the first Prime Minister of their country.

Mottley has been a Member of the Barbados Parliament since 1994. From 1994 to 1996 she was Minister of Education. In 2001 she was appointed the first and so far only (as of 2019) attorney general in her country and at the same time interior minister. She was then Deputy Prime Minister from 2003 to 2008 and Minister of Economic Affairs from 2006 to 2008.

As the leader of the opposition, Mottley won the general election on May 24, 2018, a landslide victory in which the BLP received 74.6 percent of the vote and all 30 parliamentary seats. The following day she was sworn in as the eighth and first female Prime Minister of Barbados.

In addition to this position, Mottley is also Minister for Finance, Economic Affairs and Investment and Minister for National Security and Community Service.
