Barbara Rath (* July 12, 1962 ) lives and works as an author in Krefeld .

Life

Barbara Rath grew up in Krefeld and studied biology in Braunschweig with a focus on zoology as well as human and cytogenetics . After working for the Federal Ministry of Research in a project sponsorship for research funding in the fields of biology / biotechnology, a long family phase followed.

From 2002 to 2012 she worked as a freelancer at the Krefeld Zoo .

Rath has been writing and publishing lyrics, short stories, novels, non-fiction books, poems, radio plays and stage plays since 2000. In cooperation with Buch Verlag Kempen, she has so far developed two concepts for promoting reading: the “Lesefutter” series and the “Loud reading” series. Rath organizes readings, especially in schools, libraries, bookshops, etc.
