Barbara Strzelecka

Barbara Strzelecka (born August 18, 1928 in Warsaw ) is a Polish harpsichordist, musicologist and composer.

Life

Strzelecka studied piano with Maria Wiłkomirska at the Warsaw Music Academy until 1957 and harpsichord with Emma Altberg in Łódź until 1970 . She trained as a double bassist in 1974 with Antoine Geoffrey-Deachaume in France.

Since the early 1960s she has appeared as a harpsichord soloist and as a member of a chamber orchestra on Polish radio and television, as well as at concerts by the Polish National Philharmonic and the Warsaw Music Society. Concert tours have taken her to Strasbourg, Mulhouse, Tours, Saumur, Paris and Florence, among others. Her specialty is harpsichord music of the 16th and 17th centuries. She took part in musicological congresses and festivals for early music.

Act

Barbara Strzelecka published several articles on harpsichord music in the magazine Ruch Muzyczny . She recorded two CDs with French and Polish harpsichord music and one CD with music by the English virginalists and Henry Purcells .
