After their formation in 2005, the band signed a promotion contract with MySpace Records and MySpace.com in 2007 . Absolutes , the group's first joint studio album, was released in September 2007 on the independent NBD Music label. The record received mostly positive reviews.
In 2008 the band signed a recording deal with Universal Motown . The label released Absolutes a second time in April 2009 - but without great commercial success. The song Please Don't Go finally appeared on the soundtrack to Francis Lawrence's Water for the Elephants in 2011 .
