Brian Fennell (born January 16, 1983 in Issaquah , Washington ) is an American singer-songwriter who appears under the name SYML . Fennell became known as a member of the indie band Barcelona .

Career

Brian Fennell grew up with his adoptive parents in Seattle , and his birth parents are Welsh. After studying music education, Fennell abandoned his plans to become a music teacher and joined the indie rock trio Barcelona in 2005. Until 2016 the trio released several albums and achieved respectable success.

Under the name SYML, Welsh for simple, he released the EP Hurt for Me in 2016 . Released in 2017, the ballad Where's My Love became a success in Canada and Belgium after its use in the fifth season of the television series Teen Wolf , where it was awarded gold . In the US, Where's My Love was also awarded a gold record in 2019 after making it into the top 30 Billboard Hot Rock Songs in 2018 . The album SYML was released in 2019.

The family man Brian Fennell lives and works in Issaquah.
