Bargany House is a two-story manor house about two kilometers northeast of the Scottish village of Old Dailly in the Council Area South Ayrshire . In 1971 the structure was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.

history

There is a predecessor of Bargany House, which is now called "Old Bargany Castle". It was a little deeper than Bargany House in a forest near the Water of Girvan . Bargany House was partly built from the stone material of this building around 1680. The old Tower House is not on maps from the 18th or 19th centuries and is no longer recognizable today.

After Bargany House was completed, stucco work was carried out in the 17th and 18th centuries . In the 1840s, the building was substantially expanded with the addition of a wing. In addition, the entrance area was relocated in the course of this work. A one-story Georgian extension now hides the former main entrance. In 1977 Bargany House was described as vacant and in decline. Today the well-tended park can be visited for a fee. Apartments are set up in outbuildings.
