The Barigadu is a historical region in the center of Sardinia . Thanks to the sunny but not dry climate you can find many oak and cork forests and macchia plants, some wild animals such as the rare Sardinian deer (Cervus elaphus corsicanus) and Sardinian hare (Lepus capensis mediterraneus) , fallow deer , wild boar , foxes , martens , Hedgehogs , wild cats and many types of birds including the golden eagle . Characterized by Lake Omodeo and numerous mountain villages, the area is also historically very interesting.
