Barker Bank

Barker Bank ( English ) is a submarine bank located at least 20 m below sea level in the Erebus and Terror Gulf on the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It extends from Ula Point on James Ross Island in a northeastern direction. The exact extent of the bank has not yet been determined.

The crew of the HMS Endurance charted them between 1981 and 1982. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them after the captain of the HMS Endurance , Nicholas John Barker (1933-1997).
