Barnabás Bakos

Barnabás Gustav Bakos (born July 13, 1918 , † after 1967) was a Hungarian violinist , composer , arranger and orchestra leader in the field of light music .

Life

Bakos lived in West Berlin and became known in Germany through numerous recordings in the 1950s as a typical representative of what was then still known as " Gypsy music ". He worked with Lotar Olias , Karl Föderl , Rosita Serrano , Josephine Varga, Kurt Weg u. a. together.

His compositions, which are mostly based on folk melodies from the Balkans , Eastern Europe and Spain , were mainly published by the Edition Majestic by Erwin Paesike, which today belongs to the Meisel Musikverlage group .
