Baron Ashcombe
Baron Ashcombe , of Dorking in the County of Surrey and of Bodiam Castle in the County of Sussex , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
The barons' family home was initially Bodiam Castle in East Sussex , which was sold in 1916, then Denbie's House in Surrey , which was demolished in the 1950s. The current family seat is Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire .
Award
The title was created on August 22, 1892 for the conservative politician George Cubitt . He was a member of the House of Commons from 1860 to 1865 and from 1885 to 1892 .
