Baron Ashton of Hyde
Baron Ashton of Hyde , of Hyde in the County of Chester , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
Award
The title was created on June 28, 1911 for the entrepreneur and politician Thomas Gair Ashton . This was a major cotton manufacturer and from 1885 to 1886 and 1895 to 1911 a member of the House of Commons .
