Thomas Henry Raymond Ashton, 2nd Baron Ashton of Hyde (born October 2, 1901 , † March 21, 1983 ) was a British peer and politician.

life and career

He was the second born son of Thomas Ashton, 1st Baron Ashton of Hyde . Ashton attended Eton College and then studied at New College , Oxford . Since his older brother had died in 1897, when his father died on May 1, 1933, he inherited his title of nobility as 2nd Baron Ashton of Hyde , as well as the associated seat in the House of Lords .

In 1944 he became Justice of the Peace and 1957 Deputy Lieutenant of Gloucestershire .

On June 10, 1925, he married Marjorie Nell Brookes. They had two daughters and a son, Thomas John Ashton , who inherited him as 3rd Baron on his death on March 21, 1983.
