Baron Belstead

Baron Belstead , of Ipswich in the County of Suffolk , was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award

The title was created on January 27, 1938 for the conservative politician Sir John Ganzoni, 1st Baronet . This had already been awarded the subordinate title Baronet , of Ipswich in the County of Suffolk, in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on March 22, 1929 .

When his son, the second Baron, by the House of Lords Act 1999 the seat in associated with the hereditary title House of Lords lost, this was on 17 November 1999 with the title Baron Ganzoni , of Ipswich in the County of Suffolk, raised to life peer and thereby retained his parliamentary seat. All of his titles were extinguished when the 2nd Baron died childless on December 3, 2005.
