Baron Catto

Baron Catto , of Cairncatto in the County of Aberdeen , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award

The title was created on February 24, 1936 for the entrepreneur Sir Thomas Catto, 1st Baronet . He was Governor of the Bank of England from 1944 to 1949 . He had already been awarded the subordinate title Baronet , of Peterhead , on July 5, 1921 .

Today's title holder has been his grandson Innes Catto as 3rd Baron since 2001 .

Title heir ( Heir Presumptive ) is the brother of the current title holder, Hon. Alexander Catto (* 1952).
