Baron Clitheroe

Upon the death of his father Sir Ralph Assheton, 1st Baronet on September 21, 1955, he inherited the subordinate title of 2nd Baronet , of Downham in the County of Lancaster, which was awarded to this on September 4, 1945 in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom had been.
Today's title holder has been his son Ralph Assheton as 2nd Baron and 3rd Baronet since 1984 .
