Ralph Assheton, 1st Baron Clitheroe Bt , KCVO , PC , DL , JP , KStJ (* February 24, 1901 - September 18, 1984 ) was a British Conservative Party politician who , among other things, was a member of the House of Commons between 1935 and 1955 ( House of Commons ), was Financial Secretary to the Treasury from 1942 to 1943 and Chairman of the Conservative Party between 1944 and 1946 . Life

Assheton, son of Sir Ralph Cockayne Assheton, 1st Baronet and his wife Mildred Estelle Sybella Master, attended the renowned Eton College and then began studying at Christ Church at the University of Oxford , which he completed in 1923 with a Master of Arts (MA) . In 1925 he was admitted to the bar as a barrister with the Inner Temple Bar Association ( Inns of Court ) .
