Jens Puschke

Jens Puschke (* 1975 in Berlin ) is a German law scholar and professor at the Philipps University of Marburg .

Life

Puschke studied law at the Humboldt University in Berlin from 1996 until his first state examination in 2001 . He then obtained the title of Master of Laws at the University of London in 2002 after studying for a year . After his return to Germany, he worked until 2006 as a research assistant to Ulrich Eisenberg at the chair for criminology, juvenile criminal law and the penal system at the Free University of Berlin . There Puschke obtained his doctorate in 2005. iur. After the subsequent legal clerkship at the Berlin Court of Appeal , he passed his second state examination in 2007. He then worked as a research assistant and later as an academic adviser at the Institute for Criminology and White Collar Criminal Law at the University of Freiburg . There he completed his habilitation procedure in 2015 under the supervision of Roland Hefendehl and received the venia legendi for the subjects of criminal law, criminal procedure law, criminology, juvenile criminal law and penal execution.

This was followed by substitute professorships for Puschke between 2014 and 2016 at the Universities of Freiburg and Marburg . Since the summer semester of 2016, he has held the full chair for criminal law and criminal procedure law at the University of Marburg.

From 2009 to 2013 Puschke was on the federal executive committee of the Humanist Union .

Puschke's main research interests are in the penal system and the execution of sentences. In the area of ​​formal and substantive criminal law, his work focuses on the offenses of so-called terrorism criminal law and cybercrime .
