Baron Denham

Baron Denham , of Weston Underwood in the County of Buckingham , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award and subordinate titles

The title was created on May 24, 1937 for Sir George Bowyer, 1st Baronet . He had sat for the Conservative Party in the House of Commons for almost 20 years , including many years as a Whip . At times he was also deputy party chairman. As early as January 21, 1933, he was given the subordinate title Baronet , of Weston Underwood in the County of Buckingham, in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom .

His son, the 2nd Baron, inherited the title of 10th Baronet, of Denham Court in the County of Buckingham, from a relative in 1950. This title had been created on June 25, 1660 in the Baronetage of England for his ancestor William Bowyer , an honored member of the House of Commons.

The future 5th Baronet, of Denham Court, was a Royal Navy admiral who was badly wounded in the naval battle of the Glorious First of June . He was appointed Baronet, of Radley in the County of Berks , in the Baronetage of Great Britain on September 8, 1794 . However, this title expired in 1950 with the death of the 9th Baronet, of Denham Court, or 5th Baronet, of Radley.
