Erika Stubenvoll

Erika Stubenvoll (born January 26, 1945 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1983 she was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council and from 2001 she was the second President of the Vienna State Parliament (before that, from 1994 also second President, from 1996 third President of the Vienna State Parliament ). In June 2009 Stubenvoll retired and resigned from her mandate.

Erika Stubenvoll passed the Matura and then studied psychology at the University of Vienna. At the same time, she attended the Academy for Social Work for Working People, where she subsequently also worked as a professor. Stubenvoll has been a member of the SPÖ since 1968 and has been involved in the district politics of the SPÖ Floridsdorf since 1970 . Between 1981 and 1991 she headed a section of the SPÖ in Floridsdorf. She has been a member of the district board since 1983 and was elected deputy chairwoman of the board in 1992. In addition, Stubenvoll was involved in the SPÖ women's organization. From 1986 she was a member of the Vienna Women's Committee and from 1988 chairwoman of the District Women's Committee. In 1995 Stubenvoll was elected to the SPÖ's federal women's executive committee.

Erika Stubenvoll was elected as a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council in 1983. The SPÖ initially represented the SPÖ in the committee for "Education, Youth, Information and Sport" until 2004, which she chaired between 1988 and 1991. She was also part of the “Health and Hospital Affairs” committee and a member of the control committee. Stubenvoll was the 5th chairwoman of the municipal council from 1991 to 1994 and was sworn in as second president of the Vienna state parliament in 1994. She was Third President between 1996 and 2001 and was re-elected Second President in 2001. From 2004 to 2009 Stubenvoll was a member of the committee for “Health and Social Affairs”.

In addition to her political activities, Stubenvoll is involved in social and educational matters. She was a board member in numerous boards of trustees as well as the health care institution . She is involved in the education sector in leadership roles at the Floridsdorf Adult Education Center, the Association of Viennese Adult Education and the ARGE early support. In the social area, Stubenvoll is also active in important functions for Volkshilfe , the “Arbeitsgemeinschaft Wohnstellen, Initiative Arbeit für Menschen mit Disabilities”, the Vienna Social Services, Jugend am Werk and the Austrian Committee for Social Work .

Stubenvoll is married and has a daughter and two granddaughters.
