Johann Römer (politician)
Johann Römer (born July 29, 1949 in Mistelbach , Lower Austria; † March 1, 2011 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician of the FPÖ and former 2nd President of the Vienna Parliament .
Römer attended the music-pedagogical federal high school in Mistelbach. After he moved to Vienna in 1972, he started an employment contract with the employee pension insurance company in 1974. From 1978 he was Freedom District Councilor in Leopoldstadt , in 1991 he was elected to the Vienna City Council and was second chairman of the city council from 1996 to 1998. From 1998 to 2001 he was second president of the state parliament and then until his resignation for health reasons in 2004, third president of the Vienna state parliament.
Johann Römer died on March 1, 2011 as a result of a heart attack in Vienna.
