Friedrich Hahn (politician)

Fritz Hahn (born June 18, 1924 in Vienna ; † March 6, 2002 ibid) was an Austrian politician of the ÖVP . Hahn was a member of the National Council and Second President of the Vienna State Parliament .

education and profession

After primary school and secondary school, Hahn attended the commercial academy, which he graduated from in 1942. During the Second World War he was taken prisoner by the Soviets. From 1945 Hahn worked as a civil servant for the Vienna transport company.

politics

Hahn was ÖVP district councilor in the district of Wien-Landstrasse from 1954 and represented his party in the Vienna state parliament and local council from 1959 to 1987 , interrupted by an interlude as a national councilor between 1971 and 1973. Hahn was also the first deputy regional chairman of the ÖAAB Vienna and district party chairman ÖVP Vienna- Favoriten . From 1973 to 1978 Hahn was third, from 1978 to 1987 second president of the Vienna State Parliament. Then he withdrew from politics.

Hahn received special attention in 1986 when he filed a complaint against the former finance minister Hannes Androsch for false testimony before the AKH investigative committee. Androsch was fined 900,000 shillings three years later.

His son Johannes Hahn (politician) also made a political career.
