Marianne Klicka

Marianne Klicka (born December 2, 1949 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1994 to 2015 she was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council . From 2009 to 2010 she was second president of the state parliament, from 2010 to 2015 third president of the state parliament.

School and professional career

Marianne Klicka was born as the daughter of an ÖBB carpenter and a housewife. After elementary school and secondary school, she attended the Pedagogical Academy and was then an elementary school teacher in Favoriten. She has been the principal school director since 1987. Klicka was involved in setting up the school trials for pre-school education, English in elementary school and co-educational handicrafts.

Political career

Marianne Klicka was a district councilor until 1991 and is the deputy chairwoman of the district education committee and a member of the district women's committee of the SPÖ women in Favoriten . From 1994 she represented the SPÖ in the Vienna state parliament and municipal council. According to her own statements, the focus of her work was on raising awareness and expanding the facilities for preventive health care and health promotion, women's health programs, protecting the elderly and expanding cultural programs.

She is married and has a son.
