Günther Sallaberger

Günther Sallaberger (born January 11, 1940 in Peuerbach ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) at rest. Sallaberger was the city councilor and first president of the state parliament in Vienna. Sallaberger was Viennese state hunter master .

Life

Sallaberger attended vocational school after compulsory school and learned the trade of knife and precision blacksmith. He worked as a day laborer, unskilled worker as well as a knife and precision blacksmith and was employed as a former and foundryman. Later he was employed and became secretary of the Socialist Youth. Between 1968 and 1971 Sallaberger worked as the first secretary of the Austrian Federal Youth Association, was active from 1971 as the central secretary of the Free Trade Association and in 1981 rose to the position of state party secretary of the SPÖ Vienna. In 1988 Sallaberger became the central secretary of the SPÖ. Due to a tax affair, Sallaberger resigned from his political positions and worked for several years as a manager in the construction industry. In 1998, together with Martin Schwarz, he was commissioned to draw up a master plan for the redesign of the Vienna Prater area. Between 2000 and June 2001 he was managing director of Wiener Messe & Congress-GmbH. Sallaberger also worked as a consultant for the insurance giant Uniqa.

Sallaberger started his career as a political mandate as a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council . He ran for the state and municipal council elections in 1973 in the constituency of Vienna- Landstrasse and was sworn in on October 21, 1973. Between September 28, 1984 and December 9, 1987, Sallaberger held the office of First President of the State Parliament. On December 9th, Sallaberger was elected the executive councilor for urban development, town planning and personnel, but resigned his office on June 22nd, 1988. After that he was a member of the National Council from September 26, 1988 and February 28, 1989.
