Baron Dunleath

Baron Dunleath , of Ballywalter in the County of Down , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

The family seat of the barons is Ballywalter Park at Newtownards in County Down.

Award

The title was created on August 29, 1892 for Irish textile manufacturer and former Conservative MP, John Mulholland .

With the childless death of his great-grandson, the 4th Baron, on January 9, 1993, the title fell to his cousin as the 5th Baron, who had been given the subordinate title 2nd Baronet , of Ballyscullion Park in the County of Derry , by his father in 1971 . which had been awarded to him on July 3, 1945, inherited.

Today's title holder has been his son Brian Mulholland as the 6th Baron since 1997 .
