Baron Grandison
Baron Grandison was a hereditary British title of nobility awarded twice in the Peerage of England .
Award
The title was awarded on February 6, 1299 by King Edward I to the Burgundian nobleman Guillaume de Grandson (English William de Grandison ) from the noble family Grandson , who was appointed to the English Parliament by Writ of Summons . On September 21, 1299, his brother Sir Othon de Grandson ( Sir Otton de Grandison ) was also appointed to parliament and thus also raised to baron.
Othon's title expired on his childless death in April 1328. Guillaume's title fell in Abeyance in 1375 when his descendant, the 4th Baron, died without leaving any male heirs, and has been dormant ever since.
