Baron Somerleyton
Baron Somerleyton , of Somerleyton in the County of Suffolk , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
The family seat of the barons is Somerleyton Hall near Lowestoft in Suffolk.
Award
The title was created on June 26, 1916 for the Liberal Unionist MP and former Paymaster General Sir Savile Crossley, 2nd Baronet . Already in 1872 he had inherited the subordinate title Baronet , of Belle Vue in the County of York and of Somerleyton in the County of Suffolk, from his father, Francis Crossley , which he inherited on January 23, 1863 in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom had been awarded.
Today's title holder has been his great-grandson Hugh Crossley as the 4th Baron since 2012 .
