Baron Swaythling

Baron Swaythling , of Swaythling in the County of Southampton , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award and subordinate titles

The title was created on July 18, 1907 for the prominent Jewish banker Sir Samuel Montagu, 1st Baronet . He was a member of the Liberal Party and had been a member of the House of Commons for 15 years .

He had already been awarded the subordinate title Baronet , of South Stoneham House in the County of Hants and of Kensington Palace Gardens in the County of London on June 23, 1894 in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom .

Probable title heir ( Heir Presumptive ) is a cousin of the current Baron, Rupert Anthony Samuel Montagu (* 1965), a grandson of the 3rd Baron.
