Baron Ventry
Baron Ventry , of Ventry in the County of Kerry , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of Ireland .
The family seat of the barons was Burnham House near Dingle in County Kerry until 1920 and is now Hill of Errol House near Errol in Perthshire .
Award
The title was bestowed on July 31, 1800, to Sir Thomas Mullins, MP , 1st Baronet , of the Irish House of Commons . The award was made in return for his approval of the Act of Union 1800 . As early as December 7, 1797, the subordinate title of 4th Baronet , of Burnham in the County of Kerry, was awarded to him in the Baronetage of Ireland .
Today's title holder has been his great-great-great-grandson Andrew de Moleyns as the 8th Baron since 1987 .
