Basia Trzetrzelewska
Basia (born September 30, 1954 in Jaworzno ; actually Barbara Stanisława Trzetrzelewska , Basia is the diminutive of her first name) is a Polish singer.
Life
Basia became known in 1983 as the front singer of the English pop group Matt Bianco . Their collaboration with the formation only lasted until 1985, after the first album was successful. For the second album she was replaced by Jenni Evans, but in the long term Matt Bianco did without a singer and sang all the parts themselves or had them performed by other artists (e.g. the rapper Ambassador).
Basia celebrated her greatest solo successes between 1987 and 1994 in the USA and Asia . The music of the first album shaped her to such an extent that the Matt Bianco style permeated all of her albums, be it through the overall sound of the songs, the jazz-associated harmony or the fact that the vast majority of her songs were sambas are.
In 2014 she was awarded the Polonia Restituta order of knights .
