Matt Bianco is a pop music group founded in Great Britain in 1982 , whose first line-up consisted of former Blue Rondo à la Turk musicians Kito Poncioni (bass), Mark Reilly (vocals) and Danny White (keyboard).
history
The first album "Whose side are you on?" was very successful. In particular by the brisk underlining of the wind instruments. The baritone saxophonist Ronnie Ross was at times considered the best baritone saxophone player in Europe. After his untimely death, the band dedicated the track "Ronnie's Samba" to him. For the recordings of the first album Whose Side Are You On? the Polish vocalist Basia Trzetrzelewska was hired. Poncioni left the band shortly before the release of the first single to return to their native Brazil.
Whose Side Are You On? was extremely successful, but Basia and Danny White left the band to start Basia's solo career. Mark Reilly asked the former Second Image and Wham! -Keyboarder Mark Fisher joined the band, and together they wrote and produced nine of Matt Bianco's eleven albums. Mark Fisher passed away on December 12, 2016.
In 2004, however, White, Reilly and Trzetrzelewska, reunited, released the successful album Matt's Mood and in 2005 embarked on a world tour. However, since 2006 they have been working separately again. The style of music can best be described as New Jazz , although they also played other genres. The name of the group is fictitious and is supposed to represent a spy.
Chart successes
Her first hit was Get Out of Your Lazy Bed . In addition to the chart positions shown in the table, the group was particularly successful in the Dutch and Belgian / Flemish charts.
