Basilique de Saint-Denis is a tunnel station of the Paris Métro . It is located in the northern Paris suburb of Saint-Denis and is served by Métrolinie 13 . You can change to tram line 1 at the above-ground stop of the same name. The station is named after the Saint-Denis cathedral of the same name .

The station began operating under the name Saint-Denis - Basilique on June 20, 1976 , when the section of the northeast branch of line 13 from the Carrefour Pleyel station to the Basilique de Saint-Denis station was put into operation. Until May 25, 1998 it was the end point of the northeast branch of line 13. With the extension of the line, the name was changed to Basilique de Saint-Denis .
