Bassania

Bassania was an Illyrian town near the village of Bushat near Shkodra in what is now Albania . According to Livy , it was five Roman miles from Lissus, today's Lezha .

In 168 BC Bassania was besieged by King Genthios . The city was destroyed by the Romans in the first century AD.

In 2018, remains of the city were rediscovered by Polish archaeologists led by Piotr Dycze.
