The Batak pony is an Indonesian pony breed from the island of Sumatra .

Exterior
The head of the Batak pony has a slightly convex profile. The back is short with a pronounced withers and sloping croup. The Batak pony has a deep chest, sloping shoulder and well-muscled legs with hard hooves. His height is 122 to 132 cm. All coat colors are represented.
interior
The Batak pony is friendly and also very frugal and willing to learn, so that it is very suitable as a children's riding pony. The Batak pony owes its elegance to the Arab influence.
Breeding history
The Batak pony is bred on the island of Sumatra, thoroughbred Arabs have been crossed to improve the breed . The best representatives are brought to other Indonesian islands to improve the ponies there.
