Batting cage

A batting cage ( English for, impact cage ' ) is in baseball training apparatus for a batsman .

It is a closed rectangular cage made of netting or wire mesh . The batsman stands on one side in the cage, on the other side a ball throwing machine (rarely also a real pitcher ). Batting cages are usually set up in halls. They limit the flight distance of the balls so that they can be easily picked up again. The bottom of the cage can be inclined so that the balls automatically roll back to the machine.

In commercially operated batting cages, balls can be thrown at various speeds, in the range of 48 to 145 km / h.
