The Bistum Menongue ( lat. : Dioecesis Menonguensis ) is in Angola preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Menongue . It includes the province of Cuando Cubango and the municipalities of Jamba and Ganguela in the province of Huíla .

history

Pope Paul VI founded the diocese Serpa Pinto with the Apostolic Constitution Quoniam apprime on August 10, 1975 from cession of the dioceses of Sá da Bandeira and Nova Lisboa and it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Luanda as a suffragan diocese.

On February 3, 1977 it became part of the Church of Lubango Province. On May 16, 1979, it took on its current name.
