Mário Lucunde

Mário Lucunde (born May 13, 1957 in Caimbambo ) is an Angolan clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Menongue .

Life

Mário Lucunde was ordained a priest on February 3, 1985 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Menongue on August 3, 2005. He was ordained episcopate on October 9th of the same year by the Bishop of Benguela , Oscar Lino Lopes Fernandes Braga ; Co- consecrators were Giovanni Angelo Becciu , Apostolic Nuncio in Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe , and Zacarias Kamwenho , Archbishop of Lubango . The inauguration took place on October 16, 2005.

On March 12, 2018, Pope Francis accepted his early resignation.
