The diocese of Benguela ( Latin Dioecesis Benguelensis , Portuguese Diocese de Benguela ) located in Angola was separated from the diocese of Nova Lisboa on June 6, 1970 . It has been part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Huambo since 1977 .
The seat of the diocese is Benguela on the west coast of Angola and includes the province of Benguela , but without the parts of Malongo and Mundjombwe. The Quinjenje and Calonga missions belong to the diocese.
