Oscar Lino Lopes Fernandes Braga (born September 30, 1931 in Malanje ; † May 26, 2020 in Benguela ) was an Angolan clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Benguela .

Life

Oscar Lino Lopes Fernandes Braga was ordained a priest on July 26, 1964 after completing his theological training at the diocesan seminary in Malanje .

Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Benguela on November 20, 1974 . The Archbishop of Luanda , Manuel Nunes Gabriel , donated him episcopal ordination on February 2 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Eduardo André Muaca , Bishop of Malanje , and Zacarias Kamwenho , Auxiliary Bishop in Luanda. In 2003/2004 he was Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Huambo (Angola).

On February 18, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
