Battle Creek (Alaska)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Battle Creek is a creek in the southwest of the US state of Alaska . It is located in Katmai National Park and connects Battle Lake with Narrow Cove in the southeast of Kukaklek Lake . The region is popular with anglers because of its trout and salmon stocks .

A planned diversion of the river and the glacier meltwater collected in it through dams and tunnels into the already dammed Bradley Lake by approx. 2019 is to generate a larger amount of electrical energy and transmit it from Homer to Fairbanks . Calculations by the Alaska government and the Alaska Railbelt Cooperative Transmission & Electric Company , a network that is supported by six state-regulated power producers, assume up to 36 and 50 additional GWh per year, respectively . Energy from other sources should also be fed into this network.
