Battlerite is a team-based free-to-play - Action - computer game based on the gameplay multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA). The game was developed and published by Stunlock Studios. It is the spiritual successor to Bloodline Champions , which was also developed by Stunlock Studios, and is based on their ideas. The game was released in Early Access in September 2016 and over 440,000 copies were sold within three months. The game was officially released on November 7, 2017.

A Battle Royal mode that was planned for summer 2018 was announced as an add-on . In August, however, the developers announced that the mode will be a stand-alone game and will be released in September 2018.

In July 2019, the developers announced that active work on the game would be discontinued. The last update was released in October of the same year. Battlerite and Battlerite Royal will continue to be maintained according to the developer.

Gameplay

A game consists of two teams of two or three players who fight against each other. Before starting the game, each player chooses one of 28 different champions, with each champion having different skills (a total of seven different per champion). A best of 5 is played: the team that wins three of five rounds first wins the game. Rounds are won by wiping out the entire opposing team. One round takes around two minutes. After the two minutes have elapsed, Sudden Death begins , the arena continues to shrink towards the center to the point at which each player receives damage from the force field. You can play on different cards with different heroes, each card requiring its own strategies to win.

The game was rated positively by many game testers and other magazines, such as B. from PC Gamer with a rating of 89% from 100%. The gameplay is simple, fast and free-to-play.
