The Bauformat group of companies under the Baumann group umbrella brand consists of the parent company "Bauformat Küchen GmbH & Co. KG" and "Burger Küchenmöbel GmbH". In 2018, Bauformat Kitchens and Burger Kitchen Furniture achieved a combined turnover of over 240 million euros and are therefore in the TOP10 of German kitchen furniture manufacturers.
Bauformat produces two product lines in the high-quality segment: Bauformat and Bauformat CP (handleless kitchen). It currently supplies over 60 countries. The company participates with other East Westphalian manufacturers in the in- house exhibition network Küchenmeile A30 .
Bauformat kitchens has been awarded the “golden M” seal of approval from the German Furniture Association.
history
In 1929 the four Baumann brothers founded the company "Gebrüder Baumann" in Löhne. Among the brothers were three joiners and a merchant.
In 1954, the company "Wilhelm Baumann" was founded with around 30 employees.
The "bau-for-mat built-in kitchen" product line first started in 1961.
In the 1980s the company was renamed Bauformat.
During this time, the company achieved a turnover of 50 million euros and employed 320 people.
After German reunification in 1991, Bauformat was able to acquire and continue to run the company Burger Küchenmöbel from the trust .
In 1998 the subsidiary Badea was founded, which manufactures baths. Initially the company produced in Burg , since 2016 production has taken place in Löhne.
The current owner Delf Baumann has been running the company since 1996 in the third generation.
The companies Bauformat Küchen and Burger Kitchen Furniture now have 1,000 employees at two locations with a total of 163,100 m² of production space. 650 kitchens are produced daily and 140,000 kitchens annually.
