Type (aviation)

In aviation, type describes a type of aircraft according to a certain category for the type of aircraft used by a licensing authority , e.g. B. Luftfahrt-Bundesamt in Germany, a type certificate for operation is applied for. The term sample refers to the validity for construction or model series (aircraft types / types).

In military and civilian aviation type ratings issued per model for the cockpit crew.
