Balázs Sebők ( Hungarian Sebők Balázs ; born December 14, 1994 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Kalevan Pallo since 2015 , for which he competes in the Liiga , the top Finnish league.

Career

Sebők began his career as an ice hockey player at MAC Nepstadion in his hometown. In 2009 he moved to Finland to Oulun Kärpät , the northernmost club of the local Liiga, where he was used in various youth teams. After spending the 2014/15 season with Kajaanin Hokki in the second-rate Mestis , where he was elected Rookie of the Month in January 2015 , he moved to Kalevan Pallo in the Liiga , the top Finnish division , in the summer of 2015 . In 2017 he was runner-up with the club in Finland.

International

In the junior division, Sebők was on the ice for Hungary at the U18 World Championships 2011 and 2012 in Division I and the U20 World Championships 2011 and 2014 in Division II. In 2014, he rose to Division I with the U20 selection at the home tournament in Miskolc .

He made his debut in the men's national team at the Division I World Cup in 2014 . Also in 2015 , when six years after relegation, he was promoted to the top division, he was in the Magyar squad. At the World Cup in 2016 he was able to play in the top division for the first time, but not hold this class with his team despite a 5-2 success against Belarus . At the 2018 World Cup , when he was elected to the tournament's all-star team, he was back in Division I.
