The Bausparkasse of the Austrian Sparkassen Aktiengesellschaft (spelling: s Bausparkasse ) is one of four building societies in Austria .
history
The building society was founded on April 21, 1941 as a public building society for the Ostmark as a department of the Girozentrale of the Ostmark savings banks and on May 31, 1941 registered in the commercial register as a public building society of the east . A new beginning took place in 1945 under the name of Public Building Society for Austria . Due to a change in the legal form of the Girozentrale, it was renamed the Bausparkasse der Österreichische Sparkassen in 1960 , but it remained an independent accounting department of the Girozentrale.
In 1977 the building society registered a million customers. The current name of the company (s Bausparkasse) is intended to make it clear that it belongs to the savings bank group . In the 1990s, the conversion to the Bausparkasse of the Austrian Sparkassen AG took place . Under this name it became an independent stock corporation and looks after every third home loan saver in Austria, around 1.5 million people.
In 2008, BCR Banca pentru Locuinte (BpL) was founded in Romania with a 20 percent share of the building society.
Architecture award "The best house"
In cooperation with the Federal Chancellery of Austria, the Architekturzentrum Wien and with the cooperation of the regional architecture institutions in the federal states, the Bausparkasse has been looking for the best single-family houses in Austria every two years since 2005. The invitation to tender for the 2018 Architecture Prize placed a special focus on building existing structures, i.e. expanding, converting or adding storeys to existing buildings.
Renovation check
In 2009 the Austrian federal government introduced the renovation check to promote thermal renovation in private residential construction for one- or two-family houses or terraced houses as well as for apartments in multi-storey residential buildings that are more than 20 years old . In 2018, the Austrian federal government will again provide budget funds for subsidies in the field of thermal building renovation. The funding, including possible surcharges, is awarded in the form of a one-time, non-repayable investment grant in the amount of up to 30% of the eligible investment costs. If all surcharges are exhausted for the 2018 campaign, the maximum amount of funding that can be achieved is 12,000 euros. The Austrian building societies and Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH (KPC) are responsible for the processing. For the first time, as part of the renovation check for private individuals, particularly sustainable and exemplary renovation projects are being supported as “sample renovations” with increased funding. This year the focus is on replacing old oil heating systems with alternative forms of heating. The “Raus aus Öl” bonus is funded with up to 5,000 euros.
