Hodnafjell building stone

The building stone of Hodnafjell is a menhir . It stands on a hill by the sea on the island Mosterøy or Mosterøya southwest of Vikevåg north of Stavanger in Fylke Rogaland in Norway . Hodnafjell (or Hornafjellet) is the name of the 325 m high mountain in the middle of the island.

The stone is 2.8 meters high, 60 cm at the base and about 40 cm wide at the top. It is about 8 inches thick. It fell over years ago, but was rebuilt in its original position in 1945. Some smaller stones are attached to the base for wedging.
